The European Commission Horizon 2020: ERC invites proposals for its ERC-2017-COG ERC consolidator grants. These support principal investigators who are at a career stage at which they may still be consolidating their own independent research team or programme.
Principal investigators should have been awarded their first PhD between seven and 12 years before 1 January 2017, and must show research independence and evidence of maturity. Principal Investigators must spend a minimum of 50 per cent of their total working time in an EU member state or associated country and a minimum of 40 per cent of their
total working time on the ERC project.
Grants are worth up to €2 million over five years, plus an additional €750,000 start up grant. The total budget for this call is €575m, to support an estimated 320 grants.
